I have various cars: 1/32 carrera stock, 1/32 mixed tuned magnet free, 1/24 carrera without magnets
I have the scale already in the car database, but I cannot see the track records seperated for all three kinds. And, well I have not purchased the competition add-on, but as the information is not recorded elsewhere, I bet I cannot say 'Championship of 1/32 stock Carrera" or "Stock 1/32" or "1/32 without magnets only"
So first I have limited statistics and limited selection posibilities.
The idea now is to add a category selector and the category itself is a hierarchy that everyone can build on his own with only "all" as a preset root.
Now everyone would be free to build up a tree like:
132
-- Stock
---- DTM
------ Carrera
------ Scaletrix
---- F1
------ Carrera
-- Tuned
---- No Magnets
------ DTM
-------- Carrera
------ GT
---- Magnets
------ DTM
124
--...
If any categories, more or less complex hierarchies would be free to the user. An analogy can be found in financial assistance programs, where you can define more or less specific budget goals then.
I know that it would mean a change in your db schema as all statistics then have to link to a category. But it would only be an added link to a new table initially and an update run after the update that fills all these new links for the existing entries with the "all" record. And for races it would then be possible to ad just a selector for the allowed category (including all sub levels).
