Hi Marc,

I'm new to Smartrace so I'm not sure if this is the correct way to address my questions/issues or not. Please let me know if I need to use a different method to have my questions answered. Thanks.

Question/Issue:

When I use the weather add-on, the app shows the tire information under the pit info. Unfortunately, it appears to just toggle the tires I currently have on whenever I make a pit stop. For example, it's raining and I'm told to pit for 'wet" tires, I will pit and wait 10 seconds. The tires change from slicks to wet, as expected. It's still raining and I pit for just gas, not tires. The tires still indicate that they are being changed, this time from wet to slicks, not what I expected or wanted. This poses an interesting scenario. I guess if I don't want a tire change, I can pull out of the pits early, before the change completes. This would leave the current tires in place. This works in some cases, but not all. If it's raining and I already have wet tires on, I don't want to change tires. If I have damage to my car, I have to pit to fix the damage. This means I have to stay in the pits long enough to fix the damage, but it also leaves enough time to complete the tire change, which I don't want. I'm sure that Smartrace can keep track of which tires I have on, but the app would have to know when I want to change tires. Since the driver has no way to communicate this to the app, I don't see an easy way around this. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Regards,
Rich

Hey Rich,

you can always use the tire change settings in the race dialog to adapt the feature to your wishes. If you want to make sure that the tires are not changed so fast, you can increase the time in the settings and you can even configure that the tire changing will only start after the car has been refueled to 100%. I think that should be enough to avoid unwanted change of tires. :-)

Please let me know if that helped.

Hi Marc,

Thank you for the quick response. I made some of the changes you recommended and it appears to have fixed the issue I was having. You definitely have to think about what you want to accomplish in the pit stop so you make the correct decisions in the correct order. This is great, just like real racing. I tested it by making a pit stop to get gas, repair some damage, and not change tires. It worked great. Thanks again for your help.

Rich
