Below is a feature enhancement proposal for SmartRace that introduces a guided, workflow-based “Race Setup Wizard”. It follows the normal Carrera Digital + SmartRace workflow from “assign Driver, Cars to Speed-Control, configure the Racemode, Start SmartRace Server up to the point, you press Start, to initiate the Start-Sequence.
Summary
Add an optional Race Setup Wizard that guides users through the standard pre-race configuration in SmartRace in a consistent step-by-step workflow:
Choose Track
Choose Race Mode
Assign Controllers ↔ Drivers
Assign Cars ↔ Drivers (i.e. make use of the "Tag" Feature to pre-select only cars, assigned to the Driver)
Configure Race Settings (laps/time, start mode, fuel, penalties, weather, etc.)
Summary-Screen for Validation + "Shortcuts to Quick Fixes settings"
Start Race
The wizard reduces setup errors, speeds up races, and supports quick “Replay last race” setups.
Goals
Reduce configuration errors (wrong car, wrong controller, unassigned driver)
Reduce setup time (especially for guests, clubs, Events with ever changing driver/car/remote assignments)
Provide a clear single path to the race start button
Enable repeatable presets (“Club Night Sprint”, “Kids Fun Race”, “Endurance”)
Non-Goals
Not changing the underlying SmartRace feature set which is wonderful!
Not forcing the wizard (it’s optional; current flow remains)

New prominent button on Home: “Start Race (Wizard)”
Secondary: “Quick Start” (uses last known track + assignments)
From current screens: “Continue in Wizard” (if user gets stuck)
