When taking a photo using smartrtace of a car for example, select take new phot, take the photo and press the tick. returns to the car details screen and a red bar appears stating 'there was a error selecting an image' Camera cancelled, appears.

Thanks for reporting this! I fixed the issue and will release a new version of SmartRace very soon.
