I am running SmartRace on a Formuler Z8 box (Android 7)

SmartRace will crash when I install and use the Google TTS engine. When SmartRace is not crashing I have only the ambient sounds or I only have the TTS without sounds. These will not work together (TTS + ambient). I already disabled the ambient sound but this will not solve the issue. When I remove Google TTS or choose a different TTS engine (like Pico TTS) it is working flawless.

Can you please advise me ? When I run SmartRace on my phone (Nokia 7 Plus) I dont have any issues at all.

Hi Martijn,

I honestly don't have any idea whats going wrong there. Many hardware manufacturers customize Android to fit their needs, so I guess thats causing issues on your box, too. If I understand correctly, it's working fine with Pico TTS, so there is no real pressure here, right?

Hi Marc,There is no real pressure. Thats correct. But Pico TTS sounds like a robot voice from a 80s movie. It must be a hardware thing I think. To bad for me :(Do you maybe have a hardware compatibity list ?

Hm, no, I don't have a list of compatible hardware. Do you have the chance to update to a newer Android version? 7 is already pretty old. Maybe the issue has been fixed in newer versions.
