Hey Rick,

this is the expected behaviour and not related to the new feature. See here: https://www.smartrace.de/en/the-smartrace-manual/trouble-shooting/pit-stop-continues-even-after-leaving-the-pit-lane/

Hey Marc. I understand that you know what your talking about and I'm confussed why I haven't seen this issue in the past. I cannot reproduce (or have ever seen during racing or practicing) a refueling after leaving the pits.  With past SmartRace versions once you enter the pits the refueling only happened when you come to a full stop and by pressing the lane change button. Refueling stopped as soon as you release the button or by pressing the accelerator. (at any amount).  So I wasn't aware that refueling could happen while driving around the couse and as I stated I can't recreate this no matter what I do. So with the new fuel simulator it sounds like we are now on the honor system for drivers to enter the pits and come to a full stop and want until they have reached 100% fuel before leaving the pits. And if the race is down to just a few laps to go and you only need a small amount of full to complete the race, there's no longer the guess work of how long do you need to refuel to make it to the end of the race because you're going to get a full tank of fuel just by pass through the pits.  Is this correct?   I'm sure there's a reason but with SmartRace (past versions) the fuel gauge (on Smartrace screen) starts to move as you press the button to refuel.  So is that not an input or variable to SmartRace that you can use to trigger the new fuel simulator? So that the lane change button has to be used to refuel.  Sorry if I'm being a pain, but I'm trying to understand whats possible and whats not possible to make this new fuel simulator everything it can be.

Hey Rick,

no worries, you're absolute not being any pain at all!

With the Control Unit controlled fuel system, the re-fueling only happens by pressing the lane change button, which means that you need to hold it while driving in order to be able to re-fuel around the whole track (unless you press the throttle more than 50%, which will end the pit stop). So basically you were on an honor system the whole time. :-)

Unfortunately there is no way around that. The refueling with the SmartRace controlled fuel system needs to be started automatically (since there can't be any trigger) and the only way to tell that a car is allowed to refuel is by using the data the Control Unit provides (namely the pit enter when crossing the sensor and the pit exit when pressing the throttle hard enough). I'm not sure why they did it this way, but thats what we have to deal with. :-(

Got it.  I have some guys coming over tonight to do some testing and racing so I'll see if we can recreate the fueling issue, (not that it really makes a difference now, Just like to see it happen).  Also once we go to the new fuel simulator version will we be able to switch back to the old way of refueling?  I tested that and it wouldn't allow me to go back to the old way.

Yes, you should be able to switch back and forth between the two modes by using the switch in your screenshot. If you enable fuel on the Control Unit however, SmartRace will detect this and won't allow you to turn on the SmartRace fuel simulation (as can be seen in your screenshot).

I'll double check tonight when testing but I think the fuel guage was not visible on the SmartRace main screen with the fuel simulator switch was set to off and the control unit set to on.  I could be wrong.
