Hi Marc,

Our group continues to have troubles with the SmartRace Connect Server.  It seems we have to do Control Unit resets often and sometimes this seems to drop the SmartRace Connect tablet connections.  Or maybe it is a lack of stable wifi/network and/or bluetooth.

We would only have a maximum of 6 SmartRace Connections as each controller has a dedicated tablet assigned to it.  My group doesn't use their smart phones.

I would find it very helpful to know how many tablets are connected and which controller they are watching.  This way if something drops from the server I can re-establish the SmartRace Connect connection.

Hope this makes sense.

Hallo Marc,

Hi Michael,

the fact that SmartRace Connect is losing the connection after you had to restart the Control Unit (if I understood correctly) is very interesting. It would be great if you could confirm this. Maybe there is a certain condtion under which SmartRace Connect will cut the connection on its own that I'm not aware of.

I think it could be a good idea to have some sort of automatic reconnect in SmartRace Connect which tries to re-restablish the connection (including the controller selection) if the connection is interrupted unintentionally.

Not sure if a widget would be a good approach, since it would mostly be used to see when there are issues. I think it would be better to solve the issues themselves rather than to be able to monitor them. Or did I get you wrong?

Hi Marc,

We only race about once per month at a facility we book.  That location doesn't have internet wifi.  When I do the testing at home where I have a stable Internet Wifi connection things don't seem to drop as often.

It would still be good to have a monitor for what devices are connected, imo.  But I also agree with you that solving the core issue on preventing disconnects or auto-reconnecting is probably more important.

Hallo Marc,

Vielen Dank,

If I understand it right: I'm having similar problems, that sometimes the SmartRace-Connect-Device stops updating (but still shows the screen for the selected driver). If I remeber it right, going back and reselect the controller helps, but this shouldn't be the solution, an automatic reestablishing of the connection would be great! :)
