I got rid of shadows triggering false laps on Smart Connect by adding external led lights to the bridge/enclosure I'm using to hold the phone over the track. But this could be improved and simplified if we had the ability to enable the camera flashlight on analogue mode. I tried to activate the phone default flashlight app at the same time, but at least on android the system reports that the camera is being used by Smart Connect and therefore flashlight app cannot be used.
This option combined with a fix for the reported bug on autofocus / autoexposure will improve the flexibility of locations Smart Connect could be used and its reliability.
