#20170 Time-based race does not finish in these conditions

Context: Our race configuration has the option "drivers must finish lap" activated to mark the end of the race. We run endurance races (so time-based), which is important to reproduce the bug.

Bug description: when a driver runs out of fuel in the last lap and the time has reaches zero in that lap, the race is never finished by SmartRace. We suspect it is caused by the invalid lap (no fuel). The driver can enter the pits but because the time has reached zero, refueling is no longer working. So the race keeps going although the timer has reached zero.

There is currently no way to finish the race manually in SmartRace, so we had to abandon the race and lose its statistics. Some drivers were not happy as this affected their ranking in the championship :)

Best regards,

Dirk

Hi Dirk,

there is a "Finish" button available in the "Quicklinks" widget which can be placed on the race screen. The finish button does exactly what you need: It enables you to finish a race or qualifying whenever you wish.

Hope this helps.

Marc
